Art Basel anuncia aspectos destacados de su próxima exposición en Miami Beach

• Meridians, comisariada por Magalí Arriola, directora del Museo Tamayo de
Ciudad de México, vuelve por segunda vez al Miami Beach Convention
Center (MBCC) con 16 proyectos a gran escala expuestos por artistas
reconocidos y emergentes.
• 25 galerías del sector principal presentarán exposiciones cuidadosamente
comisariadas dentro de su stand como parte del sector Kabinett.
• Edward Winkelman programará la renombrada serie de Conversaciones de
Art Basel, compuesta por 10 paneles.
• Art Basel, cuyo socio principal es UBS, tendrá lugar del 2 al 4 de diciembre
de 2021 en el MBCC.

La edición 2021 de Art Basel Miami Beach – la primera feria presencial de Art Basel en
Miami Beach desde 2019 – contará con 253 galerías líderes de todo el mundo que
presentarán obras de la más alta calidad en todos los medios, desde obras maestras
raras e históricas hasta nuevas piezas de las voces artísticas emergentes de hoy.
Además de mostrar arte excepcional dentro de sus sectores Galleries, Positions, Nova,
Survey y Edition, la feria también presentará 16 obras de arte a gran escala en
Meridians; 25 exposiciones cuidadosamente comisariadas como parte del sector
Kabinett; así como 10 paneles como parte de la reconocida serie Conversations de la
feria.

Meridians
Meridians, la plataforma única de Art Basel en Miami Beach para proyectos a gran
escala, ofrece a las galerías la oportunidad de mostrar obras monumentales que
traspasan los límites de una feria de arte tradicional, incluyendo esculturas y pinturas a
gran escala, instalaciones, proyecciones de vídeo y actuaciones en directo. Este sector,
que tendrá un nuevo espacio dedicado en la planta principal de la feria, estará de nuevo
comisariado por Magalí Arriola, directora del Museo Tamayo, que reside en Ciudad de
México.

Los aspectos más destacados de Meridians son:
• Una nueva obra de Maxwell Alexandre como parte de la serie “Pardo é Papel”
del artista, presentada por A Gentil Carioca.
• Una instalación site-specific y una activación basada en la performance de seis
dispositivos corporales de Brendan Fernandes titulada ‘Contract and Release’
(2019-2021) presentada por moniquemeloche.
• ‘Sumptuous Memories of Plundering Kings’ (2021) de Todd Gray, presentada
por David Lewis, una obra de 14 partes de más de 9 metros de longitud que
explora la historia y el impacto duradero del colonialismo europeo, la esclavitud y
la diáspora africana.
• Una monumental pintura de doble cara de Jacqueline de Jong titulada ‘De
achterkant van het bestaan’ (El reverso de la existencia) (1992), presentada por
la Galería Pippy Houldsworth.
• La icónica obra de Howardena Pindell “Sweatshop” (1998-1999), un amplio
lienzo que presenta recortes publicitarios de objetos cotidianos: peines, tijeras,
gafas y otros artículos, presentada por la galería Garth Greenan.
• ‘Moving Up’ (2021) de Yinka Shonibare, CBE, una instalación presentada por la
Galería James Cohan que recoge el desplazamiento vertical de seis millones de
afroamericanos desde los estados rurales del Sur a las ciudades del Norte, el
Medio Oeste y el Oeste entre 1916 y 1970, lo que hoy se conoce como la Gran
Migración.

Meridians cuestionan las representaciones tradicionales de clase, raza y poder para

Kabinett
El sector Kabinett de este año, que ofrece a las galerías la oportunidad de presentar

Los aspectos más destacados de Kabinett son:
• Jorge Mara – La Ruche presenta a Ellen Auerbach, Grete Stern y Horacio
Coppola, tres influyentes figuras de la fotografía de vanguardia que se
establecieron como modernistas visionarios en Europa y Sudamérica durante la
década de 1930.
• La presentación de Sies + Höke de raros dibujos tempranos de Sigmar Polke y

• Presentación por parte de Mayoral de obras de Manolo Millares, uno de los
artistas españoles más importantes del movimiento informalista europeo de

Conversations
La célebre serie Conversations de Art Basel ofrece una plataforma para el intercambio

Acerca de Magalí Arriola
Magalí Arriola, directora del Museo Tamayo, vive y trabaja en Ciudad de México. Arriola
se unió a Art Basel con experiencia institucional reciente en KADIST, donde fue curadora

Fue la curadora de la participación de México en la 58ª Bienal de Venecia en 2019,

Art Basel announces further highlights of its upcoming show in Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH | NOVEMBER 4 | 2021

• Meridians, curated by Magalí Arriola, Director of Museo Tamayo, Mexico
City, returns for the second time to the Miami Beach Convention Center
(MBCC) with 16 large-scale projects on display by renowned and emerging
artists.
• 25 Galleries from the main sector will present carefully curated exhibitions
within their booth as part of the Kabinett sector.
• Edward Winkelman will program Art Basel’s renowned Conversations
series, comprising 10 panels.
• Art Basel, whose Lead Partner is UBS, will take place from December 2 to
December 4, 2021 at the MBCC.

The 2021 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach – Art Basel’s first in-person fair in Miami
Beach since 2019 – will feature 253 leading galleries from around the globe presenting
the highest quality of works across all media, from rare and historical masterpieces to
new pieces by today’s emerging artistic voices. In addition to showcasing exceptional art
within its Galleries, Positions, Nova, Survey and Edition sectors, the fair will also present
16 large-scale artworks in Meridians; 25 carefully curated exhibitions as part of the
Kabinett sector; as well as 10 panels as part of the fair’s renowned Conversations series.
‘There’s enormous excitement within the artworld on both sides of the Atlantic about Art
Basel Miami Beach 2021,’ says Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel. ‘Not only
because it’s our first fair in two years in the Americas, but also because the show has
never before featured such a diverse range of voices.’
Meridians
Meridians, Art Basel in Miami Beach’s unique platform for large-scale projects, provides
galleries the opportunity to showcase monumental works that push the boundaries of a
traditional art fair layout, including large-scale sculptures and paintings, installations,
video projections, and live performances. The sector, which will newly be staged in a
dedicated space on the main show floor, will once again be curated by Mexico City-based
Magalí Arriola, Director of Museo Tamayo.
Meridians highlights include:
• A new work by Maxwell Alexandre as part of the artist’s ‘Pardo é Papel’ series
presented by A Gentil Carioca.
• A site-specific installation and a performance-based activation of six body
devices by Brendan Fernandes titled ‘Contract and Release’ (2019–2021)
presented by moniquemeloche.
• Todd Gray’s ‘Sumptuous Memories of Plundering Kings’ (2021) presented by
David Lewis, a 14-part work exceeding 30 feet in length, exploring the history and
enduring impact of European colonialism, slavery, and the African diaspora.
• A monumental double-sided painting by Jacqueline de Jong titled ‘De
achterkant van het bestaan’ (The backside of existence), (1992) presented by
Pippy Houldsworth Gallery.
• Howardena Pindell’s iconic ‘Sweatshop’ (1998–1999), an expansive canvas
presenting advertising cutouts of quotidian objects: combs, scissors, glasses, and
other items, presented by Garth Greenan Gallery.
• ‘Moving Up’ (2021) by Yinka Shonibare, CBE, an installation presented by
James Cohan Gallery capturing the vertical move of six million African Americans
from rural Southern states to the cities of the North, Midwest, and West from
1916 to 1970, known today as the Great Migration.
Magalí Arriola, curator of Meridians, says: ‘Many of the works included in Meridians
question the traditional representations of class, race and power to resist social
conventions, and to bridge the physical and cultural boundaries that surfaced in our
society in recent times.’

Kabinett
Providing galleries with an opportunity to present curated exhibitions in separately
delineated spaces within their booths, this year’s Kabinett sector will include 25
presentations by established and emerging artists.
Kabinett highlights include:
• Jorge Mara – La Ruche’s presentation of Ellen Auerbach, Grete Stern and
Horacio Coppola, three influential figures of Avant Garde photography who
established themselves as visionary modernists in Europe and South America
during the 1930s.
• Sies + Höke’s presentation of rare early drawings by Sigmar Polke and Gerhard
Richter, which trace the differences as well as the common ground in their
artistic approaches.
• Mayoral’s presentation of works by Manolo Millares, one of the most important
Spanish artists of the post-war European Informalist movement.
• Roberts Projects’ presentation of community-based portraits by Ghanian artist
Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe, a series of new paintings exploring the relationships
between identity, materiality, and race, that mark a critical evolution for the artist.

Conversations
Art Basel’s renowned Conversations series offers a platform for the exchange of ideas on
topics concerning the global contemporary art scene. This year’s program features 10
panels bringing together leading artists, gallerists, collectors, art historians, curators,
museum directors and critics from across the world discussing diverse issues from the
rise of the NFT art market, to questions of resilience post-pandemic and the need to reinvent the museum. Conversations will be curated for the second time by Art Basel and
private art dealer and author Edward Winkleman. The program will be free to the public,
running from Wednesday, December 1 to Saturday, December 4 in the Auditorium
(Grand Ballroom). All panel discussions will be live-streamed on Facebook and recorded.

Magalí Arriola, Director of Museo Tamayo, lives and works in Mexico City. Arriola joined
Art Basel with recent institutional experience at KADIST, where she was Lead Curator for

More on Jared McGriff: Through his work, Jared’s intent is to inspire people to take a journey away from their current reality and walk through a memory, or be reminded of an experience, conversation, or a wish. Jared is encouraging viewers of his work to submit to a unique experience of their own unconscious mind, calling back their own distant emotions or memories.

There are no significant reference points for Jared while creating his work, nor models or photos. It is derived from the imagination alone. It is an encapsulation of a moment in time.

Titled Jared McGriff: Where We Are You, this exhibition showcases McGriff’s dreamlike narratives that remain timeless even as he integrates his family’s history into the realities of the present.

This exhibition contrasts paintings that suggest contemporary snapshots of the artist’s present with paintings that conjure the real and imagined experiences of his family’s migration from the rural south to the rural west of Oklahoma and California. This juxtaposition of past and present reflects how contemporary times are shaped by the historical.

The exhibition’s title Where We Are You encapsulates notions of African Ubuntu philosophy where the individual becomes whole through the experience of the group. McGriff’s composition of single and grouped figures embodies the guiding principle for many early cultures that each individual’s actions impact others and society.

Satellite Art Show and Performance Is Alive offer fair goers a rare opportunity to experience bold, unapologetic and socially engaged projects through the boundless manifestations of performance art. Unlike any other fair, Satellite exclusively spotlights contemporary performance and time-based media. Giving these cherished art forms a unique home during Miami Art Week.

We are absolutely thrilled to be back in Miami for Art Week and have elected to focus on an art form that was dramatically impacted by the pandemic. Performance artists return to live actions, some choosing to engage virtually and some at an interactive distance. We will present different artists and live performances daily. Visitors are encouraged to purchase a week pass to experience the ever changing activations within the fair.

Geometric Abstraction 2022

“Geometric abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric forms sometimes, though not always, placed in non-illusionistic space and combined into non-objective (non-representational) compositions. Although the genre was popularized by avant-garde artists in the early twentieth century, similar motifs have been used in art since ancient times.” Wikipedia.org

The pictorial language of geometric abstraction, based on the use of simple geometric forms placed in nonillusionistic space and combined into nonobjective compositions, evolved as the logical conclusion of the Cubist destruction and reformulation of the established conventions of form and space. Initiated by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in 1907–8, Cubism subverted the traditional depiction relying upon the imitation of forms of the surrounding visual world in the illusionistic—post-Renaissance—perspectival space. The Analytic Cubist phase, which reached its peak in mid-1910, made available to artists the planarity of overlapping frontal surfaces held together by a linear grid. The next phase—Synthetic Cubism, 1912–14—introduced the flatly painted synthesized shapes, abstract space, and “constructional” elements of the composition. These three aspects became the fundamental characteristics of abstract geometric art. The freedom of experimentation with different materials and spatial relationships between various compositional parts, which evolved from the Cubist practice of collage and papiers collés (1912), also emphasized the flatness of the picture surface—as the carrier of applied elements—as well as the physical “reality” of the explored forms and materials. Geometric abstraction, through the Cubist process of purifying art of the vestiges of visual reality, focused on the inherent two-dimensional features of painting.

This process of evolving a purely pictorial reality built of elemental geometric forms assumed different stylistic expressions in various European countries and in Russia. In Holland, the main creator and the most important proponent of geometric abstract language was Piet Mondrian (1872–1944). Along with other members of the De Stijl group—Theo van Doesburg (1883–1931), Bart van der Leck (1876–1958), and Vilmos Huszár (1884–1960)—Mondrian’s work was intended to convey “absolute reality,” construed as the world of pure geometric forms underlying all existence and related according to the vertical-horizontal principle of straight lines and pure spectral colors. Mondrian’s geometric style, which he termed “Neoplasticism,” developed between 1915 and 1920. In that year, he published his manifesto “Le Néoplasticisme” and for the next two-and-a-half decades continued to work in his characteristic geometric style, expunged of all references to the real world, and posited on the geometric division of the canvas through black vertical and horizontal lines of varied thickness, complemented by blocks of primary colors, particularly blue, red, and yellow. Similar compositional principles underlie the work of the De Stijl artists, who applied them with slight formal modifications to achieve their independent, personal expression.

In Russia, the language of geometric abstraction first appeared in 1915 in the work of the avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich (1879–1935) (Museum of Modern Art, New York), in the style he termed Suprematism. Creating nonobjective compositions of elemental forms floating in white unstructured space, Malevich strove to achieve “the absolute,” the higher spiritual reality that he called the “fourth dimension.” Simultaneously, his compatriot Vladimir Tatlin (1885–1953) originated a new geometric abstract idiom in an innovative three-dimensional form, which he first dubbed “painterly reliefs” and subsequently “counter-reliefs” (1915–17). These were assemblages of randomly found industrial materials whose geometric form was dictated by their inherent properties, such as wood, metal, or glass. That principle, which Tatlin called “the culture of materials,” spurred the rise of the Russian avant-garde movement Constructivism (1918–21), which explored geometric form in two and three dimensions. The main practitioners of Constructivism included Liubov Popova (1889–1924), Aleksandr Rodchenko (1891–1956) (Museum of Modern Art, New York), Varvara Stepanova (1894–1958), and El Lissitzky (1890–1941). It was Lissitzky who became the transmitter of Constructivism to Germany, where its principles were later embodied in the teachings of the Bauhaus. Founded by the architect Walter Gropius in Weimar in 1919, it became during the 1920s (and until its dismantling by the Nazis in 1933) the vital proponent of geometric abstraction and experimental modern architecture. As a teaching institution, the Bauhaus encompassed different disciplines: painting, graphic arts, stage design, theater, and architecture. The art faculty was recruited from among the most distinguished painters of the time: Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Johannes Itten, Oskar Schlemmer, László Moholy-Nagy, Josef Albers, all of whom were devoted to the ideal of the purity of geometric form as the most appropriate expression of the modernist canon.

In France, during the 1920s, geometric abstraction manifested itself as the underlying principle of the Art Deco style, which propagated broad use of geometric form for ornamental purposes in the decorative and applied arts as well as in architecture. In the 1930s, Paris became the center of a geometric abstraction that arose out of its Synthetic Cubist sources and focused around the group Cercle et Carré (1930), and later Abstraction-Création (1932). With the outbreak of World War II, the focus of geometric abstraction shifted to New York, where the tradition was continued by the American Abstract Artists group (formed in 1937), including Burgoyne Diller and Ilya Bolotowsky. With the arrival of the Europeans Josef Albers (1933) and Piet Mondrian (1940), and such major events as the exhibition Cubism and Abstract Art (1936), organized by the Museum of Modern Art, and the creation of the Museum of Non-Objective Art (1939, now the Guggenheim), the geometric tradition acquired a new resonance, but it was essentially past its creative phase. Its influences, however, reached younger generations of artists, most directly affecting the Minimalist art of the 1960s, which used pure geometric form, stripped to its austere essentials, as the primary language of expression. Artists such as Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, and Dorothea Rockburne studied the geometric tradition and transformed it into their own artistic vocabulary.

Art Miami, returning for its 31st edition November 30 –
December 5, 2021, has announced its 2021 exhibitor list. Recognized as one of the preeminent international modern and contemporary art fairs globally, Art Miami will showcase an array of iconic and signature investment quality art works, dynamic projects and special installations across more than 140 international galleries from 17 countries representing 60 cities. El cantante cubanoamericano Stvoo8 ofrecerá un concierto el 3 de diciembre, en el EB Hotel

El joven exponente del género urbano Stvoo8 cantará el viernes 3 de diciembre en el EB Hotel. El artista, hijo de cubanos, nacido en Miami, se presentará junto a colegas como Zarabanda Band, Dani D y Franky, El Moro Rey La Cuerda, y DJ Prieto. “Estoy preparado para dar lo mejor de mí esa noche”, comenta. Stvoo8 tiene una serie de canciones que causan sensación en Youtube y Spotify. Los boletos para el espectáculo se pueden adquirir en www.eventbrite.com o llamando al 305-978-7767.

La pandemia cambió muchas cosas y a Steven Daniel Villar le modificó el horizonte profesional por completo. Hasta el 2020 estaba centrado en cuestiones relacionadas con diseño y arquitectura, pero el confinamiento le hizo replantear su vocación: dio rienda suelta a su amor por la música y comenzó una carrera como cantante. Por empezar se bautizó como Stvoo8, un juego de palabras entre su nombre real, la palabra “activo”, y el número que, puesto en horizontal, representa al infinito.

Ya son seis las canciones, escritas por él mismo, disponibles en las plataformas digitales. “Solo una”, “El pasillito”, “Romperla”, “Somos libres”, “Todo el mundo”, “Repartiendo”. Stvoo8 manifiesta que sus temas son “muy bailables y transmiten mucha alegría”. Sus creaciones coquetean con el “cubatón”, que bebe del reguetón, del son cubano, del merengue y otros estilos.

Stvoo8 destaca que lo suyo no es solo hacer mover los pies al público. “En mi música describo mi vida, y doy el mensaje de que uno debe amarse a uno mismo, tratar bien a los demás, y cuidar a la familia”. En “Solo una”, su canción más reciente, contó con la colaboración especial del productor Dispara Gatillo. “Somos libres” tuvo un génesis más serio, en cuanto a la letra, ya que Stvoo8 la escribió pensando en el deseo libertario de sus hermanos cubanos.

Con su confianza arrolladora, Stvoo8 avanza imparable y ya anuncia que arrancará el 2022 con música nueva: el tema “La cubana golda”.

CONTEXT Art Miami Announces 2021 Exhibitor List

International Contemporary Art Show Presents More than 61 International Galleries

CONTEXT Art Miami, the international contemporary fair dedicated to the development and reinforcement of emerging and mid-career artists, has announced the 2021 exhibitor list for its ninth edition. Taking place November 30 – December 5, 2021, the fair will feature more than 61 galleries from 17 countries including Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Turkey, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom and United States. CONTEXT Art Miami’s sister fair Art Miami will return for its 31st edition with 140 international galleries.
The 2021 Fair will kick off with a Platinum VIP Preview for top collectors, curators, and members of the press on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 4:30p.m. – 6:30p.m. to benefit the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The VIP Preview will open for all VIP ticketholders at 6:30p.m. and run until 10p.m. This is the 11th consecutive year that
PAMM has been the fair’s exclusive VIP Preview benefactor and Art Miami has cumulatively donated more than $275,000 to further the museum’s collection and mission.
The partnership remains an integral part of Art Miami’s larger commitment to the city of Miami.
CONTEXT Art Miami returns in-person with a high caliber, quality lineup pushing boundaries on the current dialogues in contemporary art. The Fair offers an exceptionally strong platform for collectors to discover and acquire fresh and significant works in today’s primary art market from emerging and established galleries.
The Fair will be held alongside Art Miami at the prestigious waterfront location of One Miami Herald Plaza on Biscayne Bay, nestled between the Venetian and MacArthur Causeways in the heart of Downtown Miami. This year, to further sustainability initiatives as well as touchless entry, all tickets will be available exclusively online with no box office onsite.

CONTEXT ART MIAMI +ONLINE is a curated digital exhibition offering dedicated stateof-the-art acquisition rooms, powered by Hook, which will run concurrent with the inperson fairs from Tuesday, November 30 through Sunday, December 5, 2021. CONTEXTART MIAMI +ONLINE provides additional exposure and sales opportunities for galleries participating in the in-person events. Additionally, it offers international galleries and attendees who are unable to travel and participate in this year’s in-person fairs a comprehensive digital fair solution for viewing, buying and learning about art. Informa All Secure is CONTEXT Art Miami’s approach to enhanced health and safety standards Safety is the top priority, and CONTEXT Art Miami will adhere to strict measures to protect visitors, exhibitors, and staff. The Fair will be run according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and local authority guidance as well as any venue or location-specific regulations. Informa AllSecure is how these standards are being adopted in the business. It means that when exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees come to Art Miami events, they can connect, learn, know more, and conduct more business, effectively, safely and with confidence.
As a part of the AllSecure program, all attendees of CONTEXT Art Miami are required to show proof of a rapid antigen test (or equivalent) with a negative result within 24 hours prior to attending the Fair. Attendees may choose, in their discretion, to opt out of this testing requirement by showing proof of having received full vaccination more than 2 weeks prior to attendance. Agora Gallery was established by the late Miki Stiles, MFA, to provide opportunities to artists entering the global art market. Meet Agora Gallery Team

Sabrina A. Gilbertson, Director, has a BFA degree from Boston University, with a concentration in Painting and a minor in Art History. Sabrina has worked in the New York art industry for over 12 years, coordinating exhibitions, art fairs and promotion for artists from around the world. Passionate about art for as long as she can remember, Sabrina celebrates contemporary artists and is devoted to the exploration and advancement of their artistic careers.

Shilan Samaei, Art Sales Consultant, has a BFA degree from American University of Dubai, with a concentration in Interior Design. Shilan has worked in the art industry for many years, as an art consultant, project manager, gallery director, and client liaison. Shilan has been working closely with artists from different backgrounds and cultures to create remarkable pieces for corporate offices, hospitality, and collectors. Shilan is passionate about art and love to help and promote artists from all around the world.

Carolina Carilo, Competitions Coordinator, is originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts with a concentration in print and a postgraduate degree in Art Education. A skilled workshop artist, she has also worked in cultural management and gained experience in art education. Being an artist herself she loves to help artists get more exposure via competition opportunities.

Page Carpenter, Associate Director, has a Master’s Degree in Fine & Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Sewanee: the University of the South. Page is a talented copywriter with a strong understanding of fine art & its markets. She is dedicated to providing excellent content including promotional materials for our artists and exhibitions. She is passionate about creating compelling, relevant, and engaging content for art collectors, artists, and our audience within the international arts community.

Katrina Lacanaria-Reblora, Gallery Assistant, has worked in the corporate world for 12 years as a Senior Account Specialist, but has always been passionate about arts and has dreamed of becoming a fashion designer as a kid. She also enjoys painting portraits and still life as well.

Andra Bilici, Social Media Director, is a communications consultant with an extensive experience in Social media as well as Corporate Communication. She has studied philology, PR & Communication while pursuing her passion and interest for art. Andra enjoys working on various marketing initiatives, promoting artists during their representation and integrating contemporary art into the fast-paced social media world.

Roanna Cada, Graphic Designer, has a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, specializing in digital arts. She has years of experience working on web and graphic design. She enjoys working on graphic materials for Agora Gallery, drawing inspiration from artworks of the gallery’s represented artists. Gaining new perspectives in fine art, she is fond of reviewing artworks of emerging artists and grasping their passion with their art.

Gabriella Mazza, Artist Liaison, is a multilingual interpreter and visual artist originally from Italy. Gabriella provides language, copywriting and cultural adaptation services to better promote prominent designers, artists, and photographers. She is actively involved in the Queens and Brooklyn art scenes, curating and participating in shows, organizing gallery crawls and open studios, and providing opportunities for artists to grow. Currently, she is working on a new series of paintings on rebellious underwater creatures.

Ricardo Rodriguez, Web Designer, has a BA in Information Technology specialising in web development. With years of experience developing websites, Ricardo loves creating beautifully designed sites to showcase artists’ work. An artist himself, he also enjoys photography, dancing, and mountain climbing.Anna Karampela, Social Media Assistant, has a BA in Linguistics and received her M. Phil. in Computational Linguistics from Trinity College Dublin. Growing up around artists, she developed her love for art, an element that was further evolved during her travels and has been constant throughout her career. Anna is passionate about creating high-level texts for artists, promoting their work through social media platforms.

Maria Olsson Skalin, Gallery Assistant, is originally from Helsingborg, Sweden, and has a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art History from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York as well as a Certificate of Fine Art from the New York Academy of Art in Tribeca. Maria has been working in various sectors of the New York art industry since 2018, and is particularly passionate about the history of fine art photography and printmaking.

Yshay Manos, Art Consultant, has been involved in the New York City art scene since the early 1990s. Yshay’s spectrum of experience ranges from managing design and furniture galleries to owning a gallery dedicated to Asian antiques and fine arts and privately dealing in fine and decorative art. His artistic interests span photography, mid century arts and design, contemporary art and design, Asian antiques, and fine arts and he is also an avid photographer.

Grace Gedeon, Intern, has a BA in Multimedia Journalism from SUNY Purchase College. During her studies she also acquired a minor in Visual Arts with a focus in photography–– a passion that budded her sophomore year of high school. Grace has enjoyed incorporating aspects of her studies throughout her career and has done so in recent years by working as a camera assistant, photographer, videographer, editor, and producer. She especially likes to engage herself in all things creative, even the new, and is passionate about learning from those opportunities to expand her knowledge and understanding of the art world.

Maria Stella looks through many portfolios of different artists every day, gaining new inspirations for herself from the creativity shared all around the world. A philosopher both in her soul and in her education, she is also a dedicated art lover and amateur musician. To her, art and music are the main sources of a happy life.

Naomi Harris is a Marketing specialist with a decade of experience in marketing research, outreach and specialized communications. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from B K Birla College of Science. She believes that art, in any form, can have a tremendous impact on our emotions and mood. To free her imagination, she includes art in her spiritual practices. Outside of work, she loves to explore ancient heritage sites and study ancient literature.

Bev Eusebio has obtained a graduate degree in Marketing and Corporate Communications. She is a very optimistic person and enjoys traveling across the globe. She has always been inspired by fine art photographers.

Elle Angeles is a former educator who spearheaded improvement plans, and facilitated national workshops. These experiences developed her content and resources management skills as she and her team designed sustainability plans and projects. She shared her enthusiasm for photography and filmmaking with her journalism and broadcasting mentees, and currently flourishing her children’s photography and filmmaking skills.
