Curator Juliana Forero, Ph.D.
Juliana Forero is a visual artist that works mostly on lens-based media. Colombian born, Juliana relocated to Houston from New York City where she researched the role of the artistic community in the revitalization of the South Bronx for her doctoral dissertation.
Juliana holds a Ph.D. in arts education, a MA in arts administration and a Museum Studies Certificate from Florida State University. Prior to these achievements, she received a BFA in photography and digital art from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. Her photographic work has been part of multiple group and solo exhibitions, and her photo-blog was the subject of various press articles in 2004 and 2005. Currently, she is the Director of Education for the Houston Center for Photography, where she leads the educational programs of its Learning Center.
