DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE BRINGS MIAMI ARTISTS, PERFORMERS, DJS AND COMMUNITY TOGETHER FOR A NIGHT OF ART, MUSIC & MUTUAL AID

Miami multidisciplinary artist Katherine “Neco” Kafruni invites the community to Down The Rabbit-Hole, an Alice in Wonderland-inspired evening bringing together approximately 30 local artists, performers, musicians, DJs, and community members for a night of art, figure drawing, music, and gathering.

Taking place Friday, August 28 from 8 PM to midnight, the free event will feature local artwork, live performances, figure drawing, karaoke, DJs, and food. The event is rooted in Miami’s local arts and queer community, creating a space for people to gather, make art, dance, perform, and support one another.

Figure drawing begins at 8:30 PM, with materials provided for attendees. Guests are welcome to bring their own sketchbooks and drawing materials. Live performances begin around 9 PM, followed by karaoke at 9:30 PM. DJ sets by Pino and Bugz (2girlz1deck) and Khami will begin at 10 PM and continue through midnight.

Participating artists include Daze, Terry Eduardo Prieto, Yen, Sofia Galiano, Avani Choudhary, Sheyenne Peltrau, Lily, Carley Culmo, Amanda Cantin, Mia Rosa, Victoria Levina, Bella Lunel, Valerie Luciow, Elisabeth Rodríguez, Francesco Bianchi, Danielle Ben Sira Vasyur, Ariana Formica, Jasmine Espinosa (Minnie), Jamie Louisa, Willy Gutierrez, Melody Macias, Avi Young, Iris Torralba, Sibel Ergener, Alejandra Collazos, Neco, Eva Llanera, Venus, Victoria Julien, among others.

Among the participating artists is Ariana Formica, a Miami-based young artist who was named a Florida State Winner in the 2024 Doodle for Google competition and whose work has been exhibited at Coral Gables Museum.

While Down The Rabbit-Hole celebrates Kafruni’s birthday, the event also serves as a fundraiser for earthquake relief efforts in Latin America. A portion of proceeds from artwork, pins, and food sales will be donated to GEM, while another portion will be redistributed directly through trusted individuals in Venezuela who are currently providing aid within their communities.

The goal is to support both established relief efforts and people working directly on the ground to help those affected.

The event reflects Kafruni’s interest in creating spaces where art, nightlife, community, and mutual aid can exist together. Rather than simply being a birthday celebration, Down The Rabbit-Hole is an opportunity for Miami’s artists and community members to gather, share their work, make connections, and use that gathering to support people affected by natural disasters in Latin America.
