Organized by Miami Dade College West Campus and the Doral International Art Fair, Water Trail [Rastro de Agua] presents the work of Julia Zurilla, Emilia Martín Fierro, Zura Lagarde, Samara Ash, and Alexandra De Yavorsky.

Presented within the framework of Hispanic Heritage Month under the theme “United, We Are More,” the exhibition explores the physical, existential, and symbolic dimensions of water through photography, painting, and sculpture. The works are grounded in archival research, direct observation, and personal meditation.

Julia Zurilla (b. Caracas, Venezuela) revisits documentary images in which tourist euphoria converges with stormy weather, while locals and visitors continue to enjoy the landscape.

Zura Lagarde (b. Mexico City, Mexico) explores the diffraction and reflection of light on water, using it as a mirror for hidden emotions.

Emilia Martín Fierro (b. Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) investigates edges and perception, creating spaces where histories, places, and people intersect.

Samara Ash (b. Bogotá, Colombia) explores time and transcendence, drawing inspiration from the folds, rhythms, and movement of waves.

Alexandra De Yavorsky (b. Venezuela) observes her surroundings through the chromatic variations of the sea, approaching color as a synthesis of time and perception.

For these five artists, water has no single form, yet it retains the memory of things, whether organic or inanimate. Everything flows through this liquid current that feeds seas, streams, and lagoons across multiple tributaries and shores. Its trace remains wherever life finds a passage.

In Water Trail [Rastro de Agua], matter becomes a fluctuating symbol. In the end, everything “comes to the surface.”
