The Coconut Grove Arts Festival returns President’s Day weekend, February 15-17, 2020 for its 56th annual edition. You’ll enjoy the works of 360 international artists selected by a jury from an applicant pool of nearly a thousand people in mediums ranging from painting to photography, mixed media, jewelry, sculpture and many other forms. Artists hail from across the country, around the world and right here in Florida.
The festival also encompasses culinary arts, entertainment and family activities, transforming a mile of Coconut Grove’s Biscayne Bay’s coastline into an arts village. The grounds extend from Peacock Park to Regatta Park and along McFarlane Road, South Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive.
“Early on Coconut Grove was known as a laidback, artistic bohemian community with lots of galleries. With that many artists, you needed three days to celebrate them,” says Monty Trainer president of the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Today, Kroma is at the center of today’s gallery scene.
The Festival Experience
During the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, art lovers wander from stand to stand in a gorgeous al fresco environment where artists showcase everything from digital art, fiber, glass, clay and metal work. You’ll have the chance to witness live art demonstrations and the festival is a great opportunity to buy original art for your home or as a special gift. The range of talent and work is truly spectacular.
Entertainment & Dining
This year, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival will host its first ever, “Evening Under the Stars” live concert, at Peacock Park on Friday, February 14th. This event will serve as the official opening of the festival and will feature Miami’s own Emily Estefan – internationally celebrated singer, songwriter and producer. Ticket options include a special Valentine’s Day Couples Package that will make for the ultimate date night!
The festival promises even more live music that inspires dance parties or simply acts as a pleasant soundtrack while relaxing on the lawn at Peacock Park. There’s also a kid-friendly Family Zone in Regatta Park packed with activities, crafts and entertainment for the whole family. From art to entertainment, music and family fun, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival is a no brainer for President’s Day weekend in Miami.
You can’t have an art festival without delicious food for sustenance and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival delivers with more than 50 restaurants and gourmet vendors on hand. You’ll delight in cooking demonstrations and fresh bites from local chefs. One year, Spanish language celebrity Chef Pepín broke the Guinness World Record for the largest arroz con pollo dish weighing in at over 4,000 pounds, so anything is possible. Surprising treats are always in store!

- HOURSGates open at 10:00 a.m. each day of the festival. On Saturday and Sunday gates close at 6:00 p.m. On Monday gates close at 5:00 p.m.
- GENERAL ADMISSIONOn-site general admission tickets are $15 per person per day. Discount tickets and packages are available in advance online. Click buy tickets above for more information.
- DISCOUNT ADMISSIONFree Admission is granted to children 12 and under, Metrorail Golden Passport and Patriot Passport holders. Residents of Coconut Grove in the 33133 zip code may purchase a $7 admission ticket in advance online and $10 at the gate. One per person per day (valid state issued ID is required; 1 ticket per ID).
- ATM / CREDIT CARDSATMs will be conveniently located throughout the festival. Credit Cards are accepted at all food and beverage stands. Artists may choose to accept cash only transactions.
- CHILDREN & FAMILY POLICYCGAF brings art to all ages. Future art aficionados are invited to participate in a myriad of arts and cultural activities especially designed for them. Below are some tips for making the most of your children’s visit to The CGAF:
- Children under age 16 must always be accompanied by an adult.
- Remind your children to always walk, not run.
- Smaller children can be brought in baby strollers, which are permitted throughout the festival.
- Instruct your children to never touch art unless invited by the artists.
- To protect the art, please enjoy food and beverages only in the food areas, especially with children.
- FESTIVAL STORESFestival Stores are provided at four convenient locations throughout the site. All Festival Stores accept major credit cards. You may also purchase the posters online through this website.
- FIRST AIDFirst aid service is available within the Festival site across from the Baptist Health booth located in front of the Seminole Boat Ramp on South Bayshore Drive. Qualified attendants can assist you or refer you elsewhere as necessary. Emergency transportation service is provided on-site.
- FRAMINGFor your convenience, Picture Perfect is on site located on McFarlane Road and 27th Avenue with framed posters. Picture Perfect is located at 8767 SW 132nd St, Miami, FL 33176 and can be reached during non-Festival hours at (305) 378-9199
- LOST AND FOUNDLost and Found is located at the Volunteer Check-In tent. To inquire about lost items after the Festival, call the Festival office at 305-447-0401.
- LOST CHILDREN INQUIRIESContact any uniformed City of Miami police officer or the nearest Festival security guard to assist you in locating lost members of your party.
- RESTROOMSPortable facilities are located throughout the Festival.
- SECURITYFor your safety, all visitors and their belongings are subject to a thorough inspection before entering the show premises.
GETTING HERE
- FESTIVAL LOCATIONFestival Address: 2700 S. Bayshore Drive, Miami, FL 33133 The Festival is located just south of downtown Miami, adjacent to beautiful Biscayne Bay. It runs along the streets of McFarlane Road, South Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive.
- DRIVING DIRECTIONSWhen driving to the festival please be aware of the traffic on I-95 SB at Exit 1A, Rickenbacker Causeway. If you chose to travel I-95 SB please make sure to follow US1 to 27th Avenue. We recommend taking 836 West and then 27th Avenue south to the festival. When driving, please take advantage of the 511 Traveler Information Service. Call 511 and get all your traffic updates.
- TRANSITHeading to Coconut Grove Arts Festival this year? Don’t fret behind the wheel of your car, let Miami-Dade Transit take you where you need to go. Hop on the Metrorail and ride to Coconut Grove Station. Don’t forget to download the Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app to plan your trip and track your ride in real-time. The new EASY Pay Miami app, also from Miami-Dade Transit, allows riders to purchase their fare from the palm of their hands. Buy your one-day pass ($5.65) with EASY Pay and head to the Festival seamlessly. EASY Cards are still accepted at the Metrorail fare gates and on Metrobus for your convenience.
- BIKE VALETYou can ride your bike and leave it at our free bike valet station, located at the top of McFarlane Road (near CocoWalk).
- PARKING TIPSThere is plenty of parking available in Coconut Grove to accommodate visitors to the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Options include parking garages, on-street parking meters and private parking lots.

EVENT RULES
- PETSBe kind to your pets and leave them at home when you visit the Arts Festival. Only seeing-eye dogs and service dogs are allowed within the Festival site during Festival operating hours.
- ALCOHOLAlcoholic beverages purchased at the event remain on-site. Festival security will ask you to dispose of any alcoholic beverages before you exit. Please do not bring outside beverages into the Arts Festival. For safety reasons, cans and glass bottles are prohibited within the site.
- PROHIBITED ITEMSWeapons of any kind are not permitted. Skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, scooters, large signs and placards which may endanger or inconvenience the public attending the Festival are prohibited. Festival organizers reserve the right to decline admittance to anyone who violates the reasonable policies established for public safety or to restrict activities such as public address to designated areas. No unauthorized Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, also known as drones) are allowed to fly over the festival without having the operator registered and submit a copy of their FAA registration number, and flight path for approval at the Festival office at least one week prior to the festival.
- PHOTO POLICYPhoto Policy – While cameras are permitted into the Festival, patrons are not allowed to take photos of the artists’ work at their individual booth areas. Many participating artists will have signs reminding patrons of this policy.
