Annual Resident Artist Exhibition Explores the Intersections of Process, Community, and Creative Practice
PEMBROKE PINES, FL – Studio 18 Art Complex is pleased to announce Collective Matter, the annual resident artist exhibition showcasing the diverse creative voices that comprise this dynamic working community. The exhibition opens to the public with a reception on Thursday, November 14, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Studio 18 Art Complex, 1101 Poinciana Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33025.
Collective Matter presents a compelling survey of contemporary artistic practice, bringing together seventeen resident artists whose work spans painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, installation, and mixed media. More than a group exhibition, this presentation offers a rare glimpse into the collaborative ecosystem of a working studio complex, where individual practices intersect through shared dialogue, process, and creative space.
The exhibition’s title reflects a dual exploration: matter as the physical substance artists transform through their practice, and matter as the web of relationships that bind a creative community. Each work embodies a process of becoming, revealing how the act of creation transforms both material and maker. Together, these artists illuminate the invisible threads connecting studio to studio, gesture to gesture, and idea to form.
“Collective Matter celebrates the vitality of our resident artists and the unique energy that emerges when creative practices coexist and interact,” said [Name, Title]. “This exhibition is a testament to the power of shared space and ongoing dialogue in nurturing artistic innovation.”
The opening reception will feature open studio visits, allowing guests to meet the artists, explore their creative processes, and engage directly with their work. The evening will include live entertainment and complimentary refreshments.
