“SITES OF THE SELF”
Curated by René Morales

Oolite Arts is pleased to present “Sites of the Self,” an exhibition bringing together works by the current cohort of Oolite Studio Residents to examine the processes through which identity is shaped, negotiated, and continually redefined. Across a range of mediums and perspectives, the exhibition explores how artists use their practices to interrogate, work through, and at times resist the social, cultural, emotional, and historical forces that condition who we are and who we are allowed to become.

Featuring works by Diego Gabaldon, Gonzalo Hernandez, Sepideh Kalani, Shayla Marshall, Bex McCharen, Lucía Morales, Genesis Moreno, Ana Mosquera, Sheherazade Thénard, Pangea Kali Virga, Nadia Wolff, Ricardo E. Zulueta, and José Delgado Zuñiga.

Organized by Oolite Arts in collaboration with Bakehouse Art Complex.

“FROM WITHIN”
Teen Residents Exhibition

Presented in the vitrine gallery, “From Within” highlights the work of Oolite Arts’ Teen Residents and reflects on the personal experiences, memories, and environments that shape each artist’s creative voice.

Developed over the course of the Teen Residency, the exhibition marks a period of experimentation, reflection, and growth. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media practices, the artists consider how identity, emotion, and lived experience inform their work. The resulting exhibition presents a series of deeply personal and exploratory works that speak to the process of discovering and articulating one’s perspective through art.

Featuring works by Ana Blanco, Noa Garcia, Emely Yanji, Melina Walsh, and TJ Wright.
