Museum of Graffiti to Unveil New Juneteenth Mural with 1DER and Mwanel “1-L” Pierre-Louis
Art, music and history converge in Wynwood for a Juneteenth celebration honoring freedom and creative expression through street art.
The Juneteenth Mural Unveiling takes place Thursday, June 19 at The Art of Hip Hop, located in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District.
The Museum of Graffiti, in partnership with Art of Hip Hop and KYU, is proud to announce a special Juneteenth Mural Unveiling & Panel Talk tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event will take place at the Museum of Graffiti, located at 299 NW 25th St, Miami, FL 33127, in the vibrant Wynwood/Edgewater district.
This significant event will feature the unveiling of a powerful new mural created by acclaimed artists 1DER and Mwanel “1-L” Pierre-Louis. Their collaborative work will serve as a visual celebration of Juneteenth, commemorating freedom and reflecting on the rich history and enduring legacy of Black liberation.
Following the unveiling, attendees are invited to a compelling panel discussion with the artists, offering insights into their creative process, the themes explored in the mural, and the cultural significance of Juneteenth within contemporary art. The evening will conclude with a Happy Hour at KYU, providing an opportunity for guests to mingle and continue conversations in a relaxed setting.
