LORIEN SUÁREZ-KANERVA
Lorien Suárez-Kanerva explores the intersection of geometry and nature through her layered abstractions. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant colors of her childhood living in Venezuela and the intricate designs found in botanical structures, mineral formations, and other organisms, the compositions balance dynamic, free-flowing forms with an underlying sense of order.
Fractals, spirals, and tessellations emerge throughout her work, echoing the universal patterns that shape our natural world. In the gallery space, her art becomes a visual language of nature’s geometry that invites viewers to consider the structured beauty within organic forms and reflect on the connections between art, science, and the environment.
Suárez-Kanerva studied Middle Eastern and Latin American histories at UC Berkeley and her graduate work focused on European Constitutional Law. Since 2003, she has exhibited her artwork extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally.
